Summary of the role
You will confidently lead the financial management and accounting functions of their organisation with full support from the Financial Controller. You will get the chance to take ownership of key financial decisions through overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic guidance on financial matters.
Duties
- Support the FC with full end to end accounting for the business
- Bank reconciliation, budgeting and forecasting processes
- Financial reporting and providing key information for board packs
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions
- Provide mentorship to junior accounting staff
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of financial statements
- Collaborate with the finance team to optimise financial processes
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making
- Handle financial audits and compliance activities
- Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Utilise accounting software Sage for financial analysis
Qualifications
- Minimum AAT Level 4 required
- Proven experience as an Assistant/Accountant or similar role
- Management Accounts experience
- In-depth knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in Sage
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide a team
