“Bookkeepers are the silent heroes for every business” These are the exact words from the MD. If you want to work somewhere where you’re recognised for your hard work, then this is the business.
Only due to retirement has this role become available, the current Bookkeeper of 11 years is now looking to hang up her working boots and pass the baton to a fresh set of eyes. In order to make your life easier, there are already multiple processes in place, as well as plenty of time for an adequate handover. That said, if you have ideas or processes you want to implement, then the MD is all ears!
The MD is absolutely gutted that she is leaving but is excited for a new person to join the business. He strives to create a good working environment and his main focus is to retain staff – whether it’s having quarterly reviews, upskilling employees, or increasing your salary to reflect your contribution to the business.
He offers a very ‘hands-off’ approach and will let you manage your time and workload as you wish, he doesn’t believe in micro-managing or clock-watching so is happy to trust you to manage the company’s accounts. However, he wanted to stress that if you have any questions, he will always be available to offer support and guidance.
With the MD coming from a finance background himself, you can rest assured that whenever you take annual leave you won’t return to a backlog of work. You are going to be working with the MD rather than working for him – a successful business requires collaboration between staff, something the MD sees as fundamental.
